Probate

What is probate?

Probate is a court process that resolves a person’s estate after their death—and results in the transfer of the decedent’s property to his or her heirs – either as provided by the decedent’s Will or as provided by state law if there is no Will.

If the assets of the decedent’s estate are in order, and there are no contested issues, the Florida probate process can be relatively simple.

However, there are times when probate becomes more complicated. Perhaps the estate is left in confusion or assets are lost or hidden. Perhaps there is a dispute over the validity of the Will or the ownership of certain property. These complications will extend the probate process and increase the expense.

Compassionate support when you need it most.

When you are grieving the loss of a loved one, you want an experienced and compassionate attorney to guide you through probate proceedings. Whether you are facing a simple or a complicated probate, Gayle Owens will bring her years of experience to help you to develop a comprehensive strategy for marshaling the assets of the estate and resolving contested issues. Throughout her representation on contested issues, Gayle will advocate your interests while striving to conserve estate assets.

Gayle will meet with you, explain the probate proceedings appropriate for the estate, and, whenever possible, determine a reasonable fee to cover the necessary services—you shouldn’t have to worry about how you’re going to pay the attorney too.
